As a child, my favorite place was between the life I shared with my family and dogs and the fantastical reality I created for myself — a safe space ruled by magic and fantasy. Every object in my room played a role in our little secret society; every new toy had to undergo a welcome ritual upon arrival; the house was a vast kingdom where we lived out our adventures. The most perilous ones took place in enemy territory: my older sister’s room. And so, I played and danced, watched my favorite movies, and dressed up in costumes, daydreaming about enchanted lands filled with mythical creatures. And, as you might imagine, I drew.

My home doesn't feel like unexplored territory anymore, but rather a burrow, where I am surrounded by things I love and that keep me inspired. Between the pages of a fantasy book and a creative morning in my studio to the sound of my divas — Kate Bush, Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie  Nicks, Florence Welch, Billie Holiday and so on — I still dream of dazzling love stories and wicked adventures in otherworldly places, filled with giant talking trees, chilling secrets and eerie creatures... and inevitably, I draw them.

Finding the connection with my childhood self through my work is one of the greatest delights of my life. I create for her and for humans of all ages who want to find a whimsical awesome  space to run to sometimes.
